Max HR Re-Set
Hypothesis
If we create a progressive and personalized data experience for our member, that is simple to understand and helps educate them about their own fitness journey, will it ultimately unlock long-term behavior change and lead to an increase in member engagement and higher retention overall.
Problem
The original heart rate training zones, that the company bases it’s “orange-zone” & splat-points concepts and marketing messaging around, was based off of antiquated scientific equations. This out-dated approach does not accurately represent a members correct training zones, placed undo value on training at the higher values, and inaccurately tracks splat points.
Personalize HR Zones
The OTF Max sustainable HR is a proprietary max hr value assigned to each member after the very first intro visit to a studio. This metric will become the cornerstone of personalized fitness, with members being given customized HR zones to train against. Over time these values have the ability to go up, as members progressively overload their training systems; stabilize as conditioning improves, and even trend downwards as members become more efficient at performing identical workloads.
Phased Approach To Discovery, Development, and GTM
Phase 1 - Automated single session adjusted max heart rate values provide the member with real time feedback on their fitness performance
Phase 2 - Create a heart rate time graph, a visual representation of a members effort against the prescribed load, for each session attended.
Phase 3 - Develop the ability to match the performance metadata output from the new CMS to members’s second-by-second streaming data from the studios.
Phase 4 - Assign each member an “efficiency score”; a single value that represents a member’s efficiency during a workout.
Blue Sky Concepts
